Received my Q-See 8 camera DVR system and set it up for testing in the living room. Very easy and intuitive to set up and use the basic record and playback functions. It does what it is supposed to do. I now have 8 cameras recording 8 locations. They work in dark or light. Based on the cost, ease of initial setup, quality, functionality, and ease of use I recommend the system. Other systems with similar or lesser functionality cost much more.

Cons:
1.) Green color does not show up in the image on the monitor. No amount of adjusting hue, saturation, contrast, etc fixes it--even in the bright sunlight and overcast.
2.) Clicking "back" on my remote control also happens to turn off my air conditioner. If I wanted I could connect the mouse and use that so its not really a problem.

My biggest complaint is simply the color. Color is terrible but I'm not looking to make a feature film. Other than that its great. Check back in a year after the cameras have been exposed to weather and cold.
