I was looking around for a shock mount to use with my new Behringer C1 condenser mike. The Samson mikes appeared to have the same mounting system so I took a chance and ordered the SP01. It fits and works perfectly with my Behringer mike! The mount appears to be well made, is attractive, and does the job.

Samson SP01 Shockmount = 5 STARS
I bought this Samson SP01 Shockmont to use with my Audio Tecnica AT2020USB microphone. It looked as though the two pieces would fit together, but they don't. Not very well anyway. Because of the construction of the mic, it would not tighten down enough to keep from wiggling around. So I took a rubber gasket made for a typical garden hose and used it for a spacer. It them tightened down perfectly. Problem solved. Now the two pieces work perfectly and in harmony together.
This Audio Technica AT2020USB Condenser USB Microphone works beautifully. Just plug it in to any USB and off you go. How easy is that? The sensitivity is great and fully adjustable.
This Shock Mont does what it is supposed to do and eliminate vibration and exterior noise that can translate into your recording. Although the two pieces are different colors, they look great together. I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

I been using these for years and they are strong made of quality materials, great looking, having this razzmatazz character mounts! The clams are stronf and realible and keep mike in a right position. The screw mount allows easily fix them up on the correct angle and use mike up or down!
All this said I assume you realize this is Samson's quality unit for Samson's mikes like C01 to C08 (at a moment of writing) or their equally terrific ribbon mic.

I was "shocked" at the difference this made in my recordings. My wife saw the Samson SP01 on my wish list bought it for me as a gift. When she asked if I needed it, I said, "Probably not, but it couldn't hurt." I live in a small condo with carpeted floors, and I couldn't imagine it making much of a difference. After trying it, though, I noticed a change in the noise levels in my recordings. I use it for recording poetry, and now my poems are very crisp with nothing in the background but soft quiet. My suggestion for anyone looking at this is to buy it. The price is right, and your recording quality will only get better.

I use the Samson SP01 shock mount with my Audio Technica 2020USB microphone. As another reviewer suggested, I placed three small self-adhesive pads between the shock mount and the mic to eliminate the slight wobble of the mic. The SP01 shock mount is sturdy and well-made. I am very pleased with it.

I recently bought an Audio Technica 2020 and was looking for a shockmount for it, I bought the one that Audio Technica makes and I was not satisfied with the quality, so I returned it and came across the Samson SP01. My first thought was that it looked just like the shockmount I have for my Neumann TLM 103. I immediately purchased it after seeing that people were using it with the AT 2020. As soon as it arrived I put my AT 2020 in it and it looked stunning, after I mounted it on my on-desk mic stand I bumped the table a few times to see how it worked. In short it works great, The SP01 isolates the mic extremely well. I also tested the shockmount with my Studio Projects C1 and Rode k2 (both very heavy mics) and it works great. One word of advice it seems that some people are having problems hooking this shockmount to their mic stand ( which I find extremely amusing). Like most shockmounts the Samson SP01 has an adapter that is too small for most US mic stands already in the mount ( the part where the shockmount connects to the mic stand). THIS IS EASY TO REMOVE!! All you have to do is take a coin and unscrew it!! Once you unscrew the adapter the shockmount will connect to your stand.

When you get it, it looks so simple, so basic that you can't believe that it doesn't come with the mic, but companies got to make their money right? I use it with my Samson CL8 condenser and it is perfect. Works great for podcasting, vocals or anything else you want to record. The adjustment knob is a little tight but whatever, it does its job well.

I don't think I can say enough good things about the Samson SP01 Shockmount. Long story short I was trying to get a podcast going from scratch about three months ago. I did some research and discovered that a shockmount is necessary to keep any noise from anything securing the mic from being picked up by the mic while recording. A shockmount is an absolute must, especially when looking at using a tabletop mic stand where the table will also be used as a work surface.
The build quality is fantastic. I just recently purchased my THIRD shockmount for an additional mic to be used on the podcast.
What I've grown to appreciate so much is that it seems to fit just about any condenser microphone I can get my hands on. If you are considering buying this for your own condenser mic, make absolutely sure that your mic has threads on the bottom to be screwed into some type of stand or shockmount. Nearly all do, but some companies like Blue (Snowball, snowflake, etc.) are designed not to be used in conjunction with shock mounts. I have used the MXL 007.USB with this shockmount as well as the AT2020 USB and XLR version. The MXL fit like a glove, perfect. The AT2020, once threaded in, seemed just a bit loose, so I added a couple foam bumpers around the base to act as a washer. It made a tight fit and further insulated it from any sound interference from any movement.
In short, I haven't found a better shockmount for condenser mics. The attachment screws onto any desktop tripod and traditional mic stand. Fantastic. Buy two of these!! :) Thanks Samson, now just make better mics!

I went off another person's review saying that this shockmount was compatible with the Behringer C-1 condenser microphone. So, I took a chance off of that. And I wasn't disappointed. The shockmount allows my Behringer C-3 condenser mic to fit snugly and securely. It also stays nicely attached to my boom stand with the 5/8" threads (It also has a 3/8" adapter). Overall, it works well so far. No complaints, I'd recommend it if you have a Behringer C-1/3.

If you own the Samson C01U USB mic, the shock mount is a must! I can't tell you how many times my primary mic boom/stand (tripod) has been knocked down, or fell on it's own, due to the weight of the Samson mic. Anyway, this shock mount saves the day. It's lightweight, yet sturdy, and does a great job of protecting the mic. Finally, if you already have a mic, I would suggest you not utilize, until you've purchased and installed a shock mount. Great investment and I highly recommend.

A lot of people are attracted to Samson mics because they're affordable. The same people may also end up getting an AT2020 instead, which is another popular lower priced condenser mic. But, if those people want a shock mount for the AT2020, they'll find the Audio Technica shockmount is a bit expensive. FYI, in case you're in that situation, the AT2020 fits into this Samson shockmount quite well. The only thing to consider, and it's an aesthetic thing, is that the AT2020 is black, and this shockmount is silver, and it does look a bit dorky in between a black mic stand and a black mic (this shockmount was designed for silver Samson mics). But it's a good price.

The Samson SP01 Shockmount Spider Mount for Condenser Microphones works quite well with the Samson CO1 and CO1U condenser microphones. It probably works equally well with any condenser microphone that has the same form factor as the CO1 and CO1U.
The spider mount looks professional and cuts down significantly on vibrations. The locking mechanism could be somewhat better as it doesn't tighten quite enough, but unless you yank on it it does the job as well.
25.) Doesn't Fit Nady SCM-800
Reviewed by: Brian A. Jewell Anchorage, AK

This mic isn't advertised for the Nady SCM-800 (an older condenser mic I bought in '05), but I took a chance after reading so many positive reviews on here for other mics. It doesn't, after all, fit the Nady. Still, it is a quality mount with potential for other mics. For my purposes, I can stand the mic on end and the cord weighs it down enough to hold it *fairly* steadily in place (it's not in danger of falling over). But from any other angle, the mount simply would not hold the mic. In fact, it could damage your mic if you use it in any other position. Bear in mind, this is NOT a design flaw of the Samson -- it's a great product. I just wanted any potential buyers to know. I would rate it a strong 4 1/2 stars if I could.
26.) Good product for semi-pro audio recording

The Samson shockmount is a decent product for keeping vibrations away from your condenser or dynamic microphone. It's a must for professional or high-end amateur recording if you're using the Samson C01, C03 or QU1 mics. It's a bit heavy and awkward to attach to some mic stands, though. This is relatively new, so we'll see how well the rubber bands hold up.
27.) Cheap and Timely

Ordering items online takes patience at first, then you get used to the wait. The wait here wasn't very long, and I even compared prices to find Amazon's listed price for the shockmount lower than almost everyone else's.
Would have been 5 stars, but the shockmount is just a tad loose and shifts position easier than it should, which kind of defeats the purpose. This probably isn't Amazon's fault, however.
28.) Easily modded. Nice unit.

This Sam SP01 can be easily modded for use with the Oktava MK319. I found instructions through a google search. The metal piece on the bottom of the mic holder must be removed. Instead of hammering it out, I used two screwdrivers to pry it out. That leaves a nice hole which is just a little too small to use. Using my dremel tool, I was able to enlarge the hole just a bit. As a guide the piece you remove fits in a small groove. You must file down the sides til the groove is almost not visible. Then your Oktava will fit just fine. This mod is not easily reversible so keep that in mind before starting. I'll post up a picture later.
I found the screw-on connector to not be that high quality. It wanted to cross thread as I putting it on my mic stand. So I wouldn't want to be taking it off and putting it back on frequently. That's my only complaint about it.
29.) Slightly Misleading
Reviewed by: http://www.joshwoodward.com/ Findlay, OH
Rating:
The Amazon name of this product implies that it's designed for condenser mics in general. While it did fit my Apex 205 ribbon mic perfectly (the same size screw thread), it is just a tiny bit too small to hold an AKG C-414. Luckily, I scavenged the inner mount part from my half-broken AKG shockmounts to make a working frankenstein mount, it should be stressed that this is NOT a general-purpose shockmount.
That said, the build quality is solid and this is a good unit otherwise.
